Supply Chain Management forms a basic and integral part of Redington's business offerings to vendors and Channel Partners. Redington has end-to-end logistics capabilities starting from import, warehousing, and stock movement across geographies, to packing / repacking, order processing and delivery anywhere within its operating footprint. Founded on its experience in Supply Chain Management, Redington forayed into Third Party Logistics (3PL) services in 2008. About the same time, the economic slowdown compelled many vendors to resort to effective ways of handling inventory and associated costs. Redington’s foray into 3PL positioned the company strategically to cater to vendors’ logistics requirements in a cost efficient fashion. It also enabled the company to provide efficient service to vendors who needed only logistics services. Being an experienced supply chain services provider, Redington is quick to understand clients’ needs and has successfully wooed several new customers into its fold.

As a 3PL service provider, ProConnect serves as ‘third party’ facilitators between manufacturers and buyers. The services run the gamut of forward logistics, reverse logistics and IT enablement.

Redington is creating infrastructure and has set up Automated Distribution Centres (ADC) in two Metros in India to meet the growing requirement of warehouse space and with a clear objective of establishing the company as an important player in the market.

Unlike the existing warehouses, in which the storages are 'flat' and more spread out (horizontal), these ADCs have multiple height storage with Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Technology. The ADCs have world-class security and fire-fighting systems. REDIL has also bought and implemented best of breed Warehouse Management Software (WMS) to handle complex warehousing operations with accuracy.

The state-of-the-art ADCs help Redington handle the complex needs of the existing business including 3PL and 4PL businesses. ADCs typically help improve overall efficiency while lowering the cost of operation.

The ADC at Chennai has been operational since Q2 FY 2009-10. It keeps products on the move preventing delays in distribution. In recognition of REDIL's unmatched service, TUV NORD has awarded ISO 9001 2008 Certification for the Chennai ADC for deploying the best management system for the warehousing and distribution of various products.
